Q: How do I search for specific notices?

A: Input search criteria in the left side of your screen. You can search by key word, date, location, publication or notice type. You can also search through a combination of these categories. When you change your search criteria, the results in the right-hand part of your screen will automatically update.

Q: How do I exclude keywords from my search?

A: Type "-" before the word you want to exclude. If you want to refine your keyword search, you can type a minus sign ("-") before a word to exclude it. For example, proposal -bid would find notices that include the word "proposal" but *do not* include the word "bid."

**Tip:** If you want to search for a series of words, put quotes around your search. For example, type "foreclosure sale" to find notices that include the entire phrase "foreclosure sale," rather than the distinct words "foreclosure" or "sale."

Q: How can I see more notices?

A: Just keep scrolling. When you reach the bottom of a page, more notices will automatically appear. If you try to scroll and nothing happens, that means you've reached the end of your search results. Adjust your search criteria to see more notices.

**Note:** The website homepage automatically shows notices from the past month. To customize a time frame, select a different date range on the left side of your screen.

Q: I can't find the notice I'm looking for.

A: Try adjusting your search. If you can't find what you're looking for, try changing your search criteria in the left-hand side of your screen. If you still cannot find the notice you want, contact The Washington Post:
